Even the snuff boxes of the era were used during the XVIII and XIX
centuries to contain small spyglasses.
There ae marvelous examples of snuff boxes containing spyglasses in gold
and precious stones. Some of these are preserved in the Museum.
Many other snuff boxes of this type are simply made in wood by local
artisans.
